Will my data be accessible to anyone over the Internet?
Only you and authorized personnel within your organization will have access to your data. Dental.PackOnline is protected by secure password access. You decide how many users you want.
For patient education, Dental.PackOnline has developed a unique feature, which allows you to grant limited access to patients. Under this restricted profile, your patients will be able to access only their own information. They will be able to review their history, x-rays/photos, statement balance, the next appointment and review your treatment proposals.

Do I need to be online all day long?
No, only when you are actually accessing or changing your data.Depending on your needs, you may be connected from a few minutes to 24 hours. You can disconnect and reconnect as many times as you want during the day. Our "fast login " process makes the reconnection easy.
In the case of DSL, you will be connected to the Internet 24x7 without the hassle of redialing for connection. Access to PackOnline services will always be just a few mouse-clicks away.
What if the internet connection is lost?
PackOnline Dental Practice Management can be used over the Internet through the ISP of your choice. However, to ensure a continuous and fast access to your data, PackOnline has selected several ISP partners who have built specific backbones and dial-up services for professional usage. Contact us to obtain the list of PackOnline ISP partners.
What if my ISP disconnects me?
Some ISP's disconnect their customers after a given delay of inactivity. This delay varies from 20 minutes to 2 hours. We encourage our members to enroll with one of our ISP partners who are committed to providing continuous and fast access to Dental.PackOnline, or to renegotiate their Internet access with their usual provider to obtain a longer inactivity time.
For DSL users, you will not have to worry about disconnections from your ISP due to inactivity. Your connection to the Internet backbone is continuous.
What if my phone line goes down?
A recent national survey has shown that phone companies are more reliable than ever. Phone lines are nearly 100% reliable. However in the very rare circumstance where phone service might not be available you would not be able to access your Dental.PackOnline data. These outages are usually quite short and should this happen none of your data would be lost.

Dental.PackOnline services are based on a one-year renewable contract. You may elect to discontinue our service at the end of the year. | Why do I get a "certificate has failed to verify" message when I click on the padlock icon in IE 5.0? |
Don't be alarmed if you see this message -- it is only a Microsoft IE 5.0 user interface error. In no way does it mean that the data encryption process is compromised. You will still be able to connect to our servers using strong encryption - 128 bit SSL - automatically, with no special action needed on your part. If you click on the "Certificate Path" tab in the dialog box, you will see that the certificate indeed verifies and is trusted for all its intended purposes. Microsoft and Verisign are presently taking steps to correct the situation.
